Vi är otroligt många som på olika vis jobbar för att ge hästen ett drägligare liv. Vi gillar att anklaga andra för att deras hästar typ kommer att dö för att de inte får en analyserad foderstat, det skiljer 0,3 gram i kvoten etc. Vissa har sina hästar barfota kvider vissa medan andra kvider om att hästar minsann lider av att ha skor på fötterna.
Sen har v täckesdiskussionen och bett kontra bettlöst diskussionen, lösdrift kontra stall diskussionen, fri tillgång kontra hönät diskussionen.
Ja ni förstår, listan kan göras lång. Men alt det där är Ilandsproblem, vi borde egentligen skämmas som skapar ”krig” och kritiserar varandra för så onödiga saker.
När jag bodde i Spanien så fick jag se hästar som far illa. Hästar som far illa på riktigt. Efter det har jag väldigt svårt att se lidande som andra påpekar att svenska hästar utsätts för. Det blir liksom löjligt i sammanhanget. Jag såg hästar som for så illa att jag under hela två år slutade upp med allt vad hästar heter, jag stod inte ut att se en häst. Jag hade kunnat rabbla upp vad riktigt lidande för en häst innebär. Men jag gör inte det. Det jag såg kommer att ge mig mardrömmar för resten av mitt liv…
Det finns ett projekt som jag stöder, jag önskar att fler ville stödja det, eller andra projekt som gäller lidande som världens farligaste rovdjur människan utsätter hästar för. Det här är inget för känsliga tittare. Det här är hästar som lider på riktigt. Jag uppmanar alla att skänka en peng, kanske er häst kan stå över shabraket ni tänkte köpa, eller grimma nummer 7 eller täcke nummer 6. Och att ni istället skänker en slant till det här eller till andra projekt.

The last fundraiser didn’t go so well, and combined with the enormous number of horses we have treated the last month, we are now in debts to both the feed-provider and the pharmacy. The deposit in Fluffyland 2B was covered by a nest-egg we had been given (marked for any project) so no donations have been ”taken away” from the horses, but with the enormous amounts of feed and medication we have gone through, in addition to vet bills, we are struggling to make ends meet. We did so much drop-in treatment after Eid that we were able to prevent a lot of babesiosis cases, but this cost us in shape of a massive pharmacy bill…
We are going to send home the inpatients that are well enough, but even after that we will still have around 50 fosters that need daily care and medication. We’d prefer to be able to keep these horses for a little while longer, as apart from the laminitics they all have various joint injuries, degrees of lameness, wounds and one is a tetanus case. Several are also underweight.
If you can help with any amount at all, it will help us continue our work. It’s getting harder and harder as the horses’ general condition is worsening while saline and some medications are getting impossible to find (Egypt is now also having a sugar crisis of all things), but your support is what enables us to get up every morning and keep going.
